US election: Joe Biden and his wife voted in Wellington

Early voting continues in the United States for the election of a new White House resident. Democratic candidate Joe Biden and his wife cast their ballots in Wilmington.

The state of North Carolina, which has the status of a swing state in the US presidential election, has already got 47% votes a week ago. According to US media, the role of swing states will be decisive in the elections.

Pennsylvania, on the other hand, is one of the states where the 2020 presidential election is expected to be contested. State voters can decisively influence the election results by voting for any candidate. Pennsylvania and Florida are considered the two biggest swing states in the 2020 election. According to experts, Wisconsin, Nevada, Ohio, Arizona and even the traditionally red Republican state of Texas could have very close contests.

According to USA Today, President Trump has improved his position in these fiercely competitive states in recent days. However, Biden still appears to be ahead in many states. However, this lead is only a few points. It is also worth noting that in the US electoral system, the electoral vote elects the president instead of the public vote. A candidate has to get 270 votes out of the 538 electoral college representatives who have won by popular vote.

Florida has 29 electoral votes and is therefore called the largest swing state. Swing state refers to a state whose vote can go in favor of any candidate and thus can decisively influence the election results. However, it is currently difficult to predict which party voters in the state of Florida will vote for.

The state of Pennsylvania has 20 electoral votes. In the 2016 presidential election, President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate in the state. The two parties are making separate claims regarding the swing status.
