How to Make a Bookshelf in Minecraft?
As the name suggests, the heart of Minecraft is craft. The game is not lacking in craftsmanship, from weapons to various materials to make decoration and even to split your latest production.
Maybe in your city you would like to build an elaborate library. Or you might just want to add a little flair to the house you’ve built in your living room.
Anyway, some bookshelves are going to be needed. In the Minecraft world, bookshelves serve many purposes, apart from decorative items.
Bookshelves are a great addition to the storyline of the game: From improving an enchanting process for items to looting, to providing city people with interaction.
In this guide, we will go through the materials you must create and locate a bookshop.
The Materials Required
The bookshelf recipes are as simple as you would expect. Books and wood are simply needed. You are going to need more specifically:
- Three books
- Six boards of wood (you can use acacia, birch, dark, jungle, oak, or spruce planks)
You can make a bookshelf because you have six wooden planks — not everybody must be the same wood type. Two acacia boards and four oak boards can, for example. As long as you have six planks in total, you can make a library.

Acquire a crafting table
It’s not a big deal if you’re already having a crafting table. You need to create one if you don’t. Take woodboards from your stock and create them with the use of your character tabs to create a crafting table.
Acquire books and wood planks
You most probably have a stock of logs from exploring and chopping trees in your inventory. In order to get boards, you will need at least one log version of this wood type.
One jungle log, for example, is equal to four boards of jungle. Since you need six boards for a bookshelf, at least two pieces of wood will be necessary.
The libraries in Strongholds can find these as regards books. Alternatively, three papers and one leather can be written in a book.
You will need three sugar canes to produce three papers; a leather is made from four hides of rabbit. They must be made at a manufacturing plant.
For PC and console versions: In order to make a 2 pounds square, you must put 1 piece of leather and 3 pieces of paper. It doesn’t matter the exact positioning.
Place three pieces of paper in a vertical column for the Minecraft Pocket Edition. Leather isn’t needed.

Place items into the crafting table
Take books and wooden boards and put them on the table in the empty slots. It is important to put the books and boards exactly as shown below or they won’t work.
3 books and 6 wooden boards arrange the following pattern as the preparation recipe for a library:
Row 1: wood plank, wood plank, wood plank
Row 2: book, book, book
Row 3: wood plank, wood plank, wood plank

Place the completed bookshelf in your player inventory
From the crafts table take the bookshelf. Check out the newly created bookshelf and pull it into your stock bar.

If you find the materials difficult one by one, there is a different way. This is the generation of natural bookshops. In village libraries and some village houses bookshelves are generated.
Fortifications may contain up to two libraries with one level or an upper balcony. Some of the bookshelves in the pillars and more bookshelves in pillars in the walls are arranged. Libraries at single levels include 161 libraries and libraries with 233 balconies.
