Of course, there are kids who are less than 16 and still buy lighters but we personally believe that it is wrong. Being a teenager does not mean you expose yourself to dangers in disguise. Of course, you can want a lighter for various reasons, but usually smoking is the only factor. Nobody is against the concept of buying a lighter, but being underage and buying one definitely is a problem. There are some states of America that have a set age limit for lighter purchasing however, many places like California do not have any such rule and rather do not follow any minimum sale rule when it comes to lighters and matches.

The perfect age for buying a lighter is perhaps 18. This is the age when you are considered legally independent and mature. You know what is right and what is wrong but still, many people at this age exploit this liberty and indulge into all kinds of immoral and disastrous activities. Buying a lighter is no more an event that is hyped or considered illegal specially for those under the age of 18. Since the progression of time and circumstances, many of the things have now become legal and acceptable. There is no legal age for buying a lighter yet many stores would still ask you for an identification or would not let you own a lighter at all considering your appearance and your age. There are many countries and places now that simply do not care and the shop owners would simple sell the lighter to you if you’re under the age of 18 because they simply want to make money.

Buying a lighter simply does not make you a law breaker because there is no law anywhere in the world that says buying a law is a felony. However, buying a lighter at a very young age when all you should be doing is going to school makes you a target of many other things. Smoking is not a sin, however it is injurious to health and buying a lighter for this purpose is called catering to this entire procedure. Lighters can be bought from any where, they are now the most common things to be existing. You need to be careful when you buy something like that, no matter what the purpose is.

Under What Circumstances is it Okay to Buy a Lighter
As long as you are not buying the lighter for smoking purposes, all the other reasons are acceptable and fine. If you’re over the age of 18 and buying yourself a lighter for smoking, it is probably alright. If you’re below the age of 18 and still buying a lighter for smoking, it is definitely not okay. However, if you’re below the age of 18 and buying a lighter for some other purpose, like project, experiment or literally any other purpose, it is absolutely alright. Each and every person should be careful while buying these things for these can be extremely harmful and definitely disastrous too of misused. We personally believe that there should be a set age limit for lighter selling business as this way kids under the age of 18 would refrain from buying this and this might lead to a decreased ratio of those who smoke at a young age.
