The latest update from EA in an exclusive released footage has revealed an extended look at the new Need For Speed Unbound game, but most importantly these guys have confirmed that players can now turn off the cartoon effects.

Considering the new game name update was only announced last week, EA has a lot to touch on their desk when it comes to promoting sports betting picks for this year’s Need For Speed Unbound.

The trailer already gives fan a clear view of what’s coming but the 36 second snippet below answer a major question a lot of Need For Speed fans have already been asking; “can you turn off the anime style cartoon effects? And in answering their question with the game, it’s definitely “Yes.”

It’s not entirely clear, but it seems the effects are treated as a form of customisation, with the ability to unlock or buy more and then add them to your car, to be triggered at certain moments – such as when making a jump.

However, EA are yet to explain exactly how they work if you do want them, but has made it very clear they are entirely optional, saying: ‘Yes, you can turn the effects off. In fact, you can choose to never put them on in the first place. Just like any other part of a car.’

Even so, the whole ‘graffiti comes to life’ angle is a key part of the game’s identity, as already made clear by the reveal trailer.

That only showed a very limited amount of gameplay, with the snippet below arguably having more, but with so little time to go until launch it won’t be long till more is unveiled for the game lovers.

According to reports, Need For Speed Unbound is due for release on December 2 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC – with no last gen version planned.

If you pre-order you can play it three days earlier on November 29, as well as claim some exclusive cosmetics and $150,000 of in-game currency.
